Shree Dandekar’s Keys to Advisement
Shree Dandekar has been a trusted advisor to many people and he believes
in sharing his plethora of knowledge with others. Shree Dandekar is a man who
truly believes in the value of education and truly feels that education is of
utmost importance. That is why he has dedicated such a large portion of his
life to the advisement of others.
First, Shree Dandekar
emphasizes the importance of communication. There is nothing more important
than keeping an open line of communication with your advisees, making sure that
they are able to contact you when they need you. Shree Dandekar says that a
good advisor is one who keeps an effective and open line of communication and
makes those lines of communication known to all advisees. Your advisees should
know when they are able to get in touch with you and when you hold office
hours.
Second, Shree Dandekar
recommends setting both short and long-term goals with your advisees. When
people learn the importance of effective goal setting and achieving, they learn
a great deal about responsibility and expectations. In turn, this will help the
individual become more well-rounded, responsible, and confident.
Third, Shree Dandekar
believes that all advisors and advisees should understand the dynamics and
expectations of an advisor/advisee relationship. An advisor is not a personal
counselor or a dictator of the advisee. Shree Dandekar describes the
relationship between an advisor and an advisee as more of a mentor type
relationship, where the advisor is there to inform, answer questions, and
provide guidance in general.
If you’re looking for an
advisor, Shree Dandekar recommends finding one that you feel comfortable with
and are able to meet with when needed. Find someone who you will be able to
learn valuable information from about your field.
