Shree Dandekar – Five Ways to Encourage Teamwork in the Workplace
Shree Dandekar is a man who is all about teamwork. Although he works
very well on his own and appreciates his own solace and personal meditation
time, he also knows that you should never underestimate the power of more than
one mind combined. If you are looking for ways to encourage teamwork in the
workplace, you have come to the right place!
Today, Shree
Dandekar offers these five tips for encouraging teamwork in the
workplace:
Recognize the positive- It is essential to reward
good performance in the workplace, but it is even more essential to acknowledge
when a group of people has positively worked together on a task. Furthermore,
there is nothing wrong with offering incentives for those who work well
together. The positive reaction will be contagious, says Shree Dandekar.
Encourage social opportunities- Shree Dandekar believes
that in order for members of a team to work to their fullest potential in a
group setting; it is important for those people to feel comfortable around one
another. One way to do this is to encourage social opportunities outside of the
workplace. Host a weekend barbeque or invite the staff to the local pub for
happy hour after the office day is over. Any chance you give to allow your
workers to relax and feel comfortable with each other will build their trust
with one another in the workplace in the future.
Set clear roles for everyone-
Nothing can diminish the camaraderie of a team faster than unclear expectations
or undefined roles for team members. Once clear roles are established for all
team members, the creative process and productivity can progress with ease.
Identify problems and
handle disputes positively- Make sure to get consistent feedback from all group
members so you can easily identify any problems that may exist. When a dispute
does arise, use it as a learning opportunity for the entire team. Reacting to a
negative situation in a positive way is something that Shree Dandekar believes
is hugely important in the workplace!
